Release

And so, I'm releasing this thing. I decided to let tyvb go. He has his own problems to deal with. So here is the full game without custom music. Enjoy!

All controls and mechanics are explained in the in game tutorial. And as a hint for stages 4 and 5.........Pots. That is all.

Portrait Reworking part duex

I've just about finished updating a good amount of the portraits. I've finished Momizi, China, and Remilia. My plans now are to redo Sakuya and Yukari. After that I think I'll leave the artwork at that. Aya, Tewi, Kaguya, and Eirin are the last few that I feel don't need to be redone.

With that said, have a look at some of the new portraits.


On another note. I went back and altered some of the dialogue, mostly China's her scene should be a lot more amusing now, hehe.

Portrait reworking

This game is completely done, but I can't release yet. I have to wait for tyvb. So in the meantime, I'm using the time I have now to make some unecessary aesthetic changes. Namely, the character portraits for some individuals.

Our first victim is Momizi Inubashiri.

Stage 6 Complete, Testing and wrapup commencing.

So I finished Stage 6 today. I have to thank Ocean for providing some tiles that I was too lazy to make. I remapped the stage quickly and tested everything.

Now I just have to wait on the music from tyvb and continue going over the game for any stray bugs.

This will be my last screenshot. It's the 40th one too, so that's a good point to break off, haha

Stage 5 complete

Edit: Okay, so I happen to be a robot. I managed to recreate my lost work in the span of...today.

Progress on Stage 5

Stage 5 is nearly finished. The entire level has been made, along with all the scenes. I just need to make sprites for the boss, one of the midbosses, and the cannon fodder rabbits. *sigh* Spriting is what takes the longest.

Also, I am pleased to announce that tyvb has agreed to come aboard as the composer for Project DOAD! No more ripped IaMP/SWR/Doujin Music. The game will have a custom soundtrack. Hop on over to his youtube channel and listen to some of his work. It's really good!

I'll leave off with a Reisen WIP.

Stage 4 Complete, Stage 5 in progress

I completed Stage 4 and tested it all out. Haha, it's 'puzzle' going to be rather evil, but I expect people to catch on easily enough.

Now I'm working on Stage 5, I'm nearly finished mapping, and I finished all the Midboss scenes. All that's left is to actually make sprites. Since this is Eientei, I need to make new cannon fodder enemies to replace the fairies of the last 4 stages; Rabbits. Fun, fun.

Stage 5's 'puzzle' is nothing more than a massive maze of corridors. Should prove to be rather interesting.

Ah Christ!

It's been forever and a day since I started this blog, yet I haven't done anything with it!

Time to rectify that. I'm currently working on this project once again. I had lost hope a long while ago, but some friends convinced me to take it back up again.

Right now I'm working on stage 4. I've finished the first half of the stage, and now I'm working on the midboss battle.

The Outset


Project DOAD(Desperation of Alcoholic Dream) is a game based on Touhou Project created by ZUN. It's an Action Game based upon going through stages, fighting off enemies, watching scenes between characters and facing of against bosses.

There wil be six stages total along with an extra stage if I feel up to it/can come up with a premise for it. Each stage consists of multiple travel areas in which you fight off the fairies and other beings inhabiting the areas. Within each stage there may also be 1 or more midbosses. These are stronger than normal enemies that serve as a small challenge before continuing.

And finally there are scenes orchestrated through drawn portraits and backgrounds. These scenes convey the story and may prove to be amusing at times. A nice break away from all the action.

Annnd that's all there is to say in general. I will proceed to add characters and screenshots in later updates.
